Parkwood Collection is an upcoming cluster housing development that is in Hougang, North East Region of the island. This landed project’s site belongs to the former People’s Garden. It is bounded by Upper Sernagoon Road, Hougang Avenue 2 and Lorong 1 Realty Park. It is opposite to the HDB block where the Aljunied Hougang Punggol East Town Council is located. Parkwood Collection is generally surrounded by other landed housing in its area which it future residents can expect serenity and tranquility of that private residential enclave.  The estimated total site area of Parkwood Collection is approximately 1.31 hectares. The site of New Condo is to be 99 years leasehold.

This plot of land belongs to the Government and when it was launched during the Government Land Sales (GLS) program, there were a number of interested parties. This saw an extensive bidding between 11 developers.  The reason for this might be because of the lack of plots of this size for redevelopment of landed properties. Eventually it was China group Fantasia who was awarded tender with its $75.8 million bid.

Location
The development is in the landed housing enclave in Realty Park, which is spanning from Kovan to Hougang. This enclave is located in the a matured district, comprising mostly residential housings with a mixture condominiums, landed houses, apartments as well as government’s public housing.

This MRT Station runs the MRT North East Line which covers areas along the Punggol district, to majority of the residential enclaves that is along the Upper Serangoon Road, Serangoon Road right to the city centre of Dhoby Ghaut, Chinatown and Harbourfront.

The recent announcement by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on the 1st phase of the upcoming MRT Cross Island Line has bought much good news to Hougang MRT Station. As the name suggested, this MRT line will be running from the East region directly to the West region without have to route too much off the centre of the island which a huge portion is the island’s catchment area.

Phase 1 will comprise of 10 new MRT stations covering from the from Changi East Depot which is the location of the Changi Airport with the ending station at Bright Hill MRT Station which is currently also constructing the MRT Thomson East Coast Line. These 10 stations will be completed in 2029. The Hougang MRT Interchange Station is one of the ten named stations. Once with the completion of the MRT Cross Island Line, there will additional entrance/exit the Hougang MRT Interchange Station. One of it will be approximately 300 m away from the development which will allow residents to cut down on their walking time to the train station to approximately 4 to 5 minutes.

The development is close to many local schools with the Holy Innocents’ Primary School and Montfort Junior School being within 1 km radius from it.
