Orchard Sophia is an upcoming residential development that is located in near Orchard Shopping District, District 9, Core Central of the Region. This development is along Sophia Road, near Mount Sophia. This development’s site is in between Presbyterian Church House and Sophia Villa. It is also near the split road of Sophia Road and Mount Sophia. This development is situated on an elevated piece of land along quiet and scenic Mount Sophia. Highlights of Orchard Sophia

Transport Network
Orchard Sophia is approximately 400 m away from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station which will take its future residents around 5 to 6 minutes of walk to reach there. The MRT Interchange Station is situated right at the end of Orchard Retail District on its east. There is a shopping mall that is at this station underground level as well, known as Atrium @ Orchard. This MRT Interchange is one of the major MRT Interchange Stations in Singapore serving 3 MRT services lines. These services lines are the MRT North South Line, the MRT North East Line and the MRT Circle Line. Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station is also currently the terminus station for the MRT Circle Line.

The MRT North South Line is a high volume service line and is approximately 45 kilometres in length and it serves a total of 27 MRT station. This is the first MRT service line to be constructed in Singapore. It starts running from the Jurong East Interchange Station which in Western part of the island , to the Central Area’s Marina South Pier MRT Station though the Woodlands MRT Station in the north. This actually forms an incomplete loop between those areas. From Jurong East MRT Station this service line will move northwards toward the Bukit Gombak MRT Station and the Bukit Batok MRT Station. It then curves north east between the Yew Tee MRT Station ant the Kranji MRT Station before continuing north towards Woodlands MRT Station before arriving at Sembawang MRT Station which is at the most northern tip of the MRT service line. At Sembawang MRT Station, the line continues to move south towards Yishun, Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio before it reaches Bishan MRT Station where it interchanges with the MRT Circle Line. After which it continues its journey to Toa Payoh and Newton which interchanges with the MRT Downtown Line before reaching Orchard and Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. It thens move to the City Hall MRT Station and the Raffles Place MRT Station and finally terminates at Marina South Pier MRT Station.

From the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station, future residents just need to travel towards the Marina South Pier MRT Station direction to reach the City Hall MRT Interchange Station within 1 MRT Station and the Raffles Place MRT Interchange Station within 2 MRT stations. Both these MRT Interchange Stations are also serving the MRT East West Line which future residents can easily transit to. In the opposite direction towards the Jurong East MRT Interchange Station, the Orchard MRT Interchange Station will be just 2 MRT Station away. The MRT Thomson East-Coast Line at that interchange station is scheduled to be in operations by 2022.

The MRT North East Line though is the shortest but it is one of the busiest lines that are widely used by commuters. This line is approximately 19.2 kilometres and serves at total of 16 MRT Stations. This line links the Central Area of Singapore to the island’s north east areas. Its route begins in the Harbourfront MRT Interchange Station and moves towards the north east direction which parallels Eu Tong Sen Street located in Chinatown area. It then passes below the Singapore River as well as Fort Canning towards the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station. The service line then runs along Selegie Road to the Little India MRT Interchange Station and continues to run parallel to Serangoon Road to reach the Boon Keng MRT Station. It then pass through Potong Pasir MRT Station and Kovan MRT Station and continues curving northwarss to Hougang MRT Station and then Sengkang MRT Station ast Sengkang Central before terminating at the Punggol MRT Station. There will be an extension of this MRT service line further to Punggol Coast which is due to be completed in 2024.

From the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station, future residents just need to travel 1 MRT Station toward s the Punggol MRT Station to arrive at the Little India MRT Interchange Station where the MRT Downtown Line is readily available. And in the opposite direction, future residents just need travel 3 stations to arrive at the Outram Park MRT Interchange Station which interchanges with the MRT East West Line as well as the upcoming MRT Thomson East Coast Line.

The MRT Circle Line connects the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Interchange Station to the city areas through Bishan then finishes at the Harbourfront MRT Interchange Station. It is currently a loop that is incompleted. This MRT Service Line begins at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station then moves eastwards to parallel with the Bras Basah Road and the Raffles Boulevard to arrive at the Promenade MRT Station which is also interchange for the MRT Downtown line. It then runs east alongside Kallang Basin to arrive at the Stadium MRT Station and then the Dakota MRT Station. It then continues moving towards the east to arrive at the Paya Lebar MRT Interchange Station which is located the one of Singapore’s most important business hub, the Paya Lebar Regional Centre. The line then continues to move to Tai Seng industrial estate and to Bartley and the Marymount areas. The line passes through Serangoon and then Bishan before it moves southwest generally to pass Caldecot, Botanic Gardens and then Buona Vista. At the Kent Ridge MRT Station, the line curves east and finally terminates at the Harbourfront MRT Station.

For drivers, they just need to access via Wilkie Raod before they reach the main Selegie Road which will connect them to other major arterial road such as the Rochor Canal Road, the Bukit Timah Road and the Serangoon Road. The development is also short drives away from various major expressways such as the Central Expressway (CTE), the East Coast Parkway (ECP) and also the Nicoll Highway which leads to the Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and also the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). For them to drive to the Orchard Road it will take them approximately 5 minutes of drive, the Central Business District will take them approximately 8 minutes of driving. For frequent travelers, the drive from Orchard Sophia to the Changi International Airport will take them approximately 30 minutes.
